You have to get this birth certificate before you can go on...this will then give you the actual maiden name of the mother - you can then go on knowing your are 100% definite on her maiden name as this will enable you to find the marriage, its your only hope really

SMITH Augustiania Sleaford 7a 387

Lesley thankyou Mary Smith I have seen this name Longmead further down the line as a middle name I got the name cleing from looking up a marriage but I have probably assumed wrong as Smith was a popular name and there would have been more than one Edward Smith. Where do I go from here?
I have her on 1871 Census living in Sleaford with Edward and Augustina [husbands great grandmother] is 11 there is also a dutch name. I have her on 1881 Census as widow living in Sleaford with Millicent Grandchild, Rose who belonged to Augustina and Granchild Charlotte Address 6 Jermyn Street Sleaford I am trying to go up a generation by finding out about Mary Smith

I can't understand how you got the name of Clewing.

Augustine's siblings had the following names

Georgiana Elizabeth Longmead Smith
Frederick A Longmead Smith

This longmead name has to mean something.

Can I ask where you got the Clewing from?

Hi Lesley she was the mother of Augustina Smith Sleaford and she lived Jermyn Street Sleaford I know on a census she was with Edward Smith and went by the name Smith. This is a brick wall for me.

What was the last census you found Harriet Willson on? Is it the one who lived in Bethnal Green and came from Cambridgeshire?

Hi Lesley,
please can you look for the death of Harriet Grace Willson, born 1837.Cannot find her on Free BMD or NBI ( this because Middlesex is very badly covered). Could be the West Ham area, but not 100% sure.

Hi Bill

Sadly not I'm afraid - in order to get that information you have to buy a copy of the Certificate.

Hi Elaine

I can do some Irish look ups but they are few and far between. I have seen a post on here from someone who seems to have all the discs that can be obtained for Ireland - I would post on her board.

Hi! Lesley,

I as wondering if you could do a search for me?

I am looking Birth information on Mavis Ellen Brend I think this might be her 1905 St Austell, Cornwall 5c 88 and her brother Arthur Phillips 1906 St Austell, Cornwall 5c 92.

I believe they are my Grandmothers children who were born out of wedlock. Could you get me the information from their birth certificates if possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards,

Bill
