Hi,

No, he went to India with the Army in about 1845, for good. I also know for sure that hisfather was a William Burgiss. Is the family relation given here in the 1841, could it be a nephew or something?

Many thanks for your help Kirsty

Hello Kirsty

I wonder if you can help please. Another kind person tried to find my relative but couldn't in the 1841 census. Its Edward Burgiss, a saddler in Uxbridge and he was born in 1823. Any variations on the name but the same profession would be helpful. Do you think you can help?

Many thanks

Kirsty, please forgive me, so busy yacking, forgot to thank you for the 1841,

why William Jnr lied about his surname when he joined the met..?giving all his children the middle name of Bushnell? in readiness ,i just don't think we can believe100% what we see on birth certs or census,s ,even marriage certs they were
all such a lot of fibbers, even claiming children to be theirs that weren't!!!
