Hi I’ve been researching my family for sometime now but I seem to have hit a brick wall with one particular branch.
In 1871 I have the following LLOYD, Stephen Head M 52 1819 Pembrokeshire LLOYD, Jane Wife F 38 1833 Pembrokeshire LLOYD, Margaret Daughter F 13 1858 Pembrokeshire LLOYD, William Son M 11 1860 Pembrokeshire LLOYD, David Son M 9 1862 Pembrokeshire LLOYD, Stephen Son M 6 1865 Pembrokeshire RG number:RG10 Piece:5539 Folio:27 Page:8
They are in Penbank Nevern Trewern quarter.
By 1881 Stephen senior has died and widow Jane is with daughter Elizabeth in Plasyberth Nevern. RG11 Piece:5426 Folio:9 Page:12
I have David born July 1861 in 1881,1891,1901 and 1911 so he’s no problem but I can’t find any of the other children in 1881. I have the all the previous census for this family. There is also another son John who was born in 1852 who also seems to go missing after 1871. I have all the birth dates and baptisms for the children from parish records. All the children were born in Nevern. I would be really grateful if someone could locate them after 1871. Von

Tracey Thank you. As I said to Ginny I wasn't sure about the place of birth but I've just checked the 1871 again and there is only on Stephen Lloyd of that age born in Pembrokeshire so guess that must be him. Thank you again for your help. Von

Don't worry me n G go back a while, she's teasing me and i'm just being mardy with her....lol.
It won't last long, she'll soon be begging for help somewhere eh G ??..:-P
Von, sometimes they don't jump out at you immediately, however it doesn't mean the one we have found is yours!
There could be enumeration issues as to why they are not where you'd expect to find them. I wouldn't be in too much of a rush to 'claim' them as yours yet.... see what else comes up.

Tracey Thank you. I think that's why I've dismissed so many of them as they are not quite right. It's so easy to trace the wrong family with Welsh rellies so I suppose I'm over cautious but if someone else comes up with the same family then there's a psssibility it's them. Thanks again for the help.
David thank you. Just going to check them out Von Edit possibility even. Haven't touched a drop!!!

David Thank you for the marriages. I've now checked them out and Margaret Lloyd married Thomas Lewis in Dec 1888.
In 1891 census Margaret's sister Elizabeth is living with them so definitely correct marriage.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me with this although I'm still missing two possibly three sons. Von

Ginny That would be good thank you. With David's help I found Margaret. found her marriage, got her in 1891 and1901 only to lose her in 1911. Grrr I don't think she died but there is a possible death for her husband before 1911. I'll keep looking though as you say they are out there somewhere. Thanks again Von

This looks like William in 1901. He's a butcher as was his father.
1901 Wales Census about William Lloyd Name: William Lloyd Age in 1901: 38 Estimated birth year: abt 1863 Relation: Head Gender: Male Where born: Nevern, Pembrokeshire, Wales Civil parish: Ystradyfodwg Ecclesiastical parish: Ystradyfodwg St John County/Island: Glamorgan Country: Wales Street Address: View image Condition as to marriage: View image Education: View image Employment status: View image Occupation: View image Registration district: Pontypridd Sub-registration district: Ystradyfodwg ED, institution, or vessel: 26 Neighbors: View others on page Household schedule number: 56 Household Members: Name Age William Lloyd 38 <<<Married Margaret Lloyd 21 <<Daughter<<Single
Well somethings not right here. Either the age of Margaret has been entered wrongly or the enumerator has entered the relationship wrong?
Ooo, I suppose he could have had his daughter VERY young

Ginny Thank you. 1891 Jane is still living in the same house as 1881. A property called Plasyberth. I don't know who owned the house but several members of my family lived there at one time or another. I think in rural Wales "living on own means " just meant you weren't working but weren't a pauper. Didn't necessarily mean you had lots of cash. Her son was a butcher so probably got given meat and almost all my Welsh family grew their own veg etc and eeked out a living. I don't know about paying rent but maybe the children helped out I'll have a look at the William you found as both his father and brother were butchers so would make sense. Thanks again for your help. It helps to have a fresh pair of eyes. take care Von

Ginny I'm on a roll now you've found William as I've just found his marriage. Thank you, thankyou Von Edit. Meant to say that I have William's birth as 1859 according to parish records so he would have been a bit older than age given
