Hi, It is now 2017 and i am no closer to finding James Bowman. What are the possibilities that he and his father shared the same christian name and that the son was called James for ease of attention. Could he have been David James Bowman. He is connected with shipyards i am sure. I suspect that my father William Henry Parrington and him may have worked in the Birkenhead docks. |

Hi do you have any idea where I can look next.? Could it be possible that his birth was not registered? The only James bowman to come anywhere close regards details is one born in Ashton-under-Lyme in Cheshire but two people discounted this. |

But NOT the name, or year of birth, which are fairly crucial |

Thanks. Seems as if this chap is illusive. There was a rumor in the family that he may have come from "up north". So I did wonder if it was meant to infer Northern England or Scotland hence the Carlisle Bowman line that seemed to fit most of the criteria. |

The 12 Dec 1914 James Bowman gives USA as his last permanent residence and Ireland as his next place of permanent residence. The other two are Canadian. |

Hi, The James that came into Liverpool on the 12th Dec 1914. Is there any clue to where he was born? Another interesting thing that I had not noticed before is that the lady (Ethel Diamond) that he wed Nov 27th 1915 was 3 months pregnant with Robert Arthur Bowman born 18th May 1916. Just a little more about this man. Thanks |

Dea, I saw that Incoming Passenger List - there are two others for a James Bowman of the correct age, one in the same year as the one above: |

Hi, many thanks for your reply. That death data is mine. In 1916 James lived at 439,Cleveland Street and was still there when my mother Ethel was born in 1919.Also in 1922 when his wife died. His address in 1929 when he wed Annie Spong was 36,Banning Street and she lived at" Crofton" Hoylake Road, Moreton. When he wed Dorothea Martin his address was given as "St.Elmo,Reeds Lane and he committed suicide in "The Three Musketeers" Reeds lane which is the address where Dorothea lived prior to her marriage. I am led to believe that the two houses where on a camp site but have nothing to support this. After his death his widow went to live at 27,Market Street,Hoylake. He seems to have moved around in the Wallasey/Birkenhead area but where did he come from. Thanks once again |

Having inaccurate birth info in your GR tree could mean that you miss out on possible contact from anyone who is researching the same person as you |

Hi, I have all of the marriage certificates for James. His first marriage he stated he was a bachelor and the subsequent ones that he was a widower. All marriages were in Birkenhead area of the UK.All children were born in the same place. James was an Engine fitter/Marine engineer/shipyard. His father was a stonemason. |

There are two records of a James Bowman of the right age entering UK. He was a machinist. What was your James's occupation? |
