Hi Yes I have looked at other trees regarding Carrs and found the one with Michael Brigdale just before you sent this ! It was helpful but going a little away from my friend's family of Keeley/Keely/Carr.
But I do like the piece you've included Chris about the skirmisher!!
Thank you to everyone for the help.
John Keely or Keeley 1834 - 1908 seems illusive but I think he may have been a soldier or worked away. I have him in 1881 census with 8 children and poss 1851 with mother Amelia.
I thought I'd look for wife Catherine b, 1834 or 1836 in Wigan.
There's also another Catherine Keeley b.1891
Regards Margaret

This is the message form the rootschat post that ChrisHo posted:
Looking for any information on the Carr name from Mayo. All I have is this information so far.. Bridget left a clue in the Wigan 1911 census. saying that she was born Charlestown Mayo.
and this is probably the census referred to:
Name:Bridget Carr Age in 1911:70 Estimated birth year:abt 1841 Relation to Head:Wife **** ender:Female Birth Place:Charlesh, Mayo, Ireland Civil Parish:Wigan
they have been married 45 years; 8 children, 4 living.
son, John, 37 b Wigan is living with them.
So, unless Bridget in the 1851 married a Carr, this isn't her.

Thanks everyone. The marriage and dates of John and Mary Carr came from my friend and I couldn't prove any of this due to being from Ireland.
I have seen most of the information above, but not found he could be named James. The information does seem to fit very well. Thank you so much.
I can go on from there. Grateful. :-) :-) <3

Where does the information re his age come from? Is it from the marriage certificate? If it is, where did they marry and what was John's occupation?
Where does the death information come from?
For reference:

John married Mary Carr 1804 - 1882. Both born Ireland. Mary is shown on 1851 census in Wigan as married. But John is not there at the time.
By the next census 1861 she is a widow as he died 1857? They had 4 children. Catherine, Peter, Mary and Bridget. All born in Ireland.
I have quite a lot of information about all of them apart from John.
Can't seem to find him! I'm wondering if he stayed in Ireland.
Any ideas??
