I'm trying to find out what happened to my great uncle Ernest/Earnest Meadowcroft b Oldham 1898. I have all his relevant British documents up to 1910 when he was sent to Canada as a British Home Child. I have all the documentation of his departure and arrival - his birth date is given as 1895. I also have his WWI military papers - he signed up when he was only 16 (gave the false birth date of 1895) He was discharged from the army only 4 months later reason given as "KR&O 322-2-e (e) Soldier of local battalion abroad considered unlikely to become efficient" |
