Hi Shirley, a lot of this family I'm researching have Quaker background and they do seem to have recorded a lot of birth dates pre 1839 :-) Not the norm, I agree. |

In the case of Robert Walker being illegitimate, what's the chance of finding a record of his birth ? From census returns it would seem he was born circa 1822 ? |

I don't know, this is information supplied by the family. They clearly have some of their facts wrong. I'm doing a double check for a relative. The Leticia Pilgrim marriage appears to be the correct one. |

Thanks all, I've now gone back another a couple of generations Fred, Harry and to a Robert born 1822. Parish records job next. Do they exist online for Bedfordshire does anyone know ? :-) |
