I am looking for two different people but as they are a married couple I've posted the two requests together.
Henry (1844) and Hannah(1834) married in 1867 in Hull and I have them on all the census records from 1871 onwards.
Henry is from Glanford Brigg, South Ferriby, Lincolnshire and Hannah is from Yorkshire.
On the 1871 census I have Henry and Hannah living with their son Charles Henry (1869) in the house of the Matthews family. Both Henry and Hannah are given as brother/sister in law. When Hannah married Henry she used the name Hannah Matthews.
This would suggest to me that Hannah's marriage to Henry may have been her second. What do others think? Can anyone find Hannah's first marriage as without her maiden name I cannot go back further.
My second query relates to Henry as I cannot find him on a census prior to 1871. Can anyone find Henry on the 1851 or 61 census?

Do you believe this to be the birth reg of Charles Henry Jackson?
Charles Henry Jackson Registration Year: 1870 Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar Registration district: Glanford Brigg Inferred County: Lincolnshire Volume: 7a Page: 687
To confuse matters, the free search on GRO gives a different maiden name
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname: JACKSON, CHARLES HENRY FIRTH GRO Reference: 1870 M Quarter in GLANFORD BRIGG Volume 07A Page 687

That is the birth that appeared most likely for Charles Henry though I will need to order the cert to confirm. A different mothers maiden name does throw a spanner in though and adds to the confusion

That is the family on the 1881 census. The most likely explanation is that I found the wrong census record in 1871.

Hang on, you could still be right.
Could this be James Matthew's first marriage?
James Matthews Registration Year: 1849 Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar Registration district: Doncaster Inferred County: Yorkshire West Riding Volume: 22 Page: 69
William Tissington Rachel Elliott Martha Firth Martin Firth <<< Son in law? Sarah Firth <<< Sarah his wife? Elizabeth Matthews James Matthews <<<< Mary Anne Mabel Pollard Thomas Thompson Mary Tunningley Mary Tunninley
Too tired to sort it out, but suspect there was a meld of 2 families going on.
