Cannot locate birth on GRO

‘Less is more’

Surname, one forename, gender and year is all you need to input

The GRO site does not recognise initials, nor can you search by county.

Well, I found it by clicking on order a cert and put the details in. It came up as George Samuel Read!

Maybe digital copy is not available for this item? So I ordered a pdf but that will take a few days.

Ty names. I did try without the initial S and also left off the area etc but still nothing.
I'm bafflled.

Do you mean order a certificate rather than a download?

It is on Freebmd so must be on the GRO.

Try leaving off the initial. Or just order it as the refs you have are the same as freebmd.

Added. I’ve now managed to open the scan on freebmd and it is definitely there.

I have details of a birth i want to download a digital copy of but when i enter all the details it cannot find the birth?

There is baptism ii found elsewhere which shows the birth name the other way around as in:

Samuel Georgii Read
Baptised 15 April 1912
Folkestone

Father_ Samuelis Read
Mother_ Mariae Syrett

The baptism has been poorly transcribed but maybe it was not written very well.

So when I put the birth details into the GRO, it comes back no records found. Can someone else have a look for me and if they find it tell me where I am going wrong.
I have tried with just first name and the 2nd initial. I put Dover and also tried Kent but nothing comes up.

Any help would be appreciated thanks
