Mardle, if you would like help with your own tree, please give us some more detailed information.

I can't see any records that definitely add up to what you've said so far.

Who were George's parents?
Did he have a middle name?
When did he die?

Have you found him on the 1901 or 1911 censuses?

Going by what you've said (re wife Peggy/Margaret, and his birth in 1891) , it would appear that he's NOT George Frederick Burton, who lived in Louth with his parents and siblings, because that George was born in 1889 and married an Esther.Robinson in 1914.
George and Esther did have a son in 1916 - Kenneth Raymond Burton.

However, that George Burton is the only one born around 1891 living in Louth in 1901, 1911, 1921 and 1939.

That George did have a sister Margaret.

Mardle -
Unfortunately, Jonathan isn't a GR member any longer, so he won't see your post, and he can't be contacted.

Even if he were still a member, he wouldn't be looking for replies after 19 years in any case!

I've got a George Burton born 1891 who married Peggy (short for Margaret) around 1914. They had a son but I don't know his name. George lived in Louth, Lincolnshire all his life. Again no info on Margaret where born. A long shot, hope you find more info soon. :-)

I am trying to find out whether a Reginald Burton, listed on the War Graves Commission site, who died 4th August 1944, is one of my grandfather's brothers. The War Graves site states that Reginald's parents were George and Eliza Burton, which are the same names of my grandfather's. The doubt in my mind is my grandmother, who is the eldest surviving relative cannot remeber a Reginald, only a Gerald! Can anyone shed any light onto this? Reginald's wife was a Margaret Burton (maiden name unknown) from Liverpool. Another doubt as my line of Burton's originate from Norfolk.
