Hi Pen, Please could you do a Norfolk 1841 look up for Elizabeth SPRINGHALL, a widow - hopefully in Great Yarmouth. She was born in 1783 and on the Ancestry index, there is an Elizabeth SPRINGEL born 1786, which seems to be nearest date to my Elizabeth. Her unmarried spinster sister Rachel BOULTER was living in St Peter's Terrace Great Yarmouth and I wondered if these two ladies lived together. (Rachel was born in 1777 but in 1841 she is recorded as born 1785.) Would be grateful for any info you can unearth. Many thanks, Jay

Heather WESTWORTH I wonder if you can help me in so much as tracing my Relatives: Here goes Agnes Alexander 1851 Census - As unmarried Daughter at home, apparently there were 8 in the household. All names if possible and ages if possible Ralph Westworth 1871 Census - Married Agnes Alexander Registered Oct-Dec Vol 8e Page 949 in 1867 trying to trace Ralph’s Parents, Brothers, Sisters and most important Children. Quite possible both Ralph & Agnes have passed away. I think Ralph died in 1875 age 30. Not sure about Agnes as yet. 1881 Census – States Children living with Grandmother hopefully at least 2 will be Thomas and James and others. Need to know names of all 4 inhabitants and ages if possible. Thomas Westworth 1901 Census - Age 30. Wife Elizabeth Ann Wilson age 25, and Daughter Mary Agnes age 1. Elizabeth Ann Wilson born 1876 – Newton in Cartmel 1881 Census – Is she on this, if so, all inhabitants and age if possible. This is all the information that I have without seeing the census. Hi Pen Trying to find my grans borthers sisters and parents. Her Name was Jane Ellen MacDermott born 25.03.1909 she was the youngest of 10. So hopefully some of her siblings will show up on the 1901 census. Her parents were Jane and Richard MacDermott she had two sisters Margarete and Lizzie (short for Elizabeth I think) and 7 brothers Ernie, Albert, James, Sidney dont know the other 3 names. She was born and bred in Ashton under Lyne and as far as I know all her siblings were. Hope you can help. I am new at this and dont know where to start. Cheers Angela

Hi, Pen. Thankyou so much for all your hard work! They're a frustrating lot , my Sampson's! lol! I found the same family on the 81 cencus and although they didn't have a William with them, there was a William Sampson who was an inmate of the St Olave infirmary with the right year & place of birth which could tie him in with them, and now seeing that you managed to find them on the 1871 with a William (YIPEEEEE!) It looks as though they could be the right one's (she say's with crossed fingers?) Where could they have been hiding on the 1891?? Now the 1901 is a real mystery to me because when William & Jane (Howard) married in 1897 their address was 10 bourne street Croydon Surrey. This was Jane's parents address from the 1881 cencus to the 1901 cencus and beyond. William Thomas was born there in 1898 & my Nan Edith was born there in 1903. I have all the Howards living at that address but no Sampson's! See what I mean about the brick wall! lol! Thank's again, Gaynor x
