I have just stumbled across the above postings and am amazed that I missed such good tips previously. I always used to try to trick of enteringXX parish record on line, but early dimentia after an accident punched a few holes in my memory. Thankyou all so very much. :-) |

I was a bit confused abt why she'ld be looking in Kendal, but I now find Cumbria includes a small part of the former West Riding of Yorkshire around Sedbergh. (The WRY parishes of Howgill, Sedburgh, Debt and Garsfield formed the old Sedbergh Rego D, whose registers are now in Kendal.) |
