Hi I have been trying to link two relatives but having a bit of a problem. In my one family line two people married people from a different family.
So Francis married mary D
and Elizabeth married thomas D

They were brother and sisters from two families. When I put the marriages the D familes do not connect to show they are related. Is there any way to connect them or do I have to add the same family details for both partners..

I hope I have explained it properly...Sorry if its confusing
I have tried putting a relative on the clipboard and copying but that just adds another relative to that branch not join them..

I had a similar problem. A cousin married her step brother. They were adult children who only met when their parents got married.
I could only show them as married after I entered a child against my cousin as having an unknown father, I then amended the child as having a father who was an existing tree member, This created the marriage automatically. In your case, Create Mary D and Thomas D separately then give them the same parents. Hope this makes sense.
I only worked this out as my GG Grandfather married his Grandfather's sister's Granddaughter. I think this made them 2nd cousins and I needed to work out how to link them.

If you have - eg - Francis and Mary D as separate people in their own places on your tree, as children of their parents
then you can "marry" them in "Immediate Family" view.

Look at Francis in Immediate Family. Click Add -> Spouse -> Find Existing.
Start typing Mary D's name, and select it from the drop-down list which will appear.

This will result in you being able to see Francis as Mary's husband if you're looking at Mary on your tree; and Mary as Francis's wife if you're looking at Francis on your tree.(In Immediate Family view)

It does not duplicate any entries.
