A friend of mine has found out her ancestors were from Pegrams Grocery Stores-England -we are in Australia Does any one know of this company and when and where it originated

There's someone with the surname Pegram on this site, don't know if they are any distant connection to what you're looking for, also Pegrams on Ancestry. :-)

-Don`t know if this is connected, but down here on the south coast of england we used to have Pegrums the Bakers... { pretty sure thats how it was spelt}

They had shops locally and used to do home deliveries in the 60`s and 70`s....

I was just in a different discussion group here in the UK & Pegrams Stores cropped up, so I Googled it & found your discussion. There was such a store on Stretford Road, Urmston Manchester in the 1950s, when I lived near there.

I can remember Pegrams grocery stores in Liverpool in the 50's and possibly into the 60's. After that they disappeared altogether - not sure if they just closed down or were absorbed by someone else.
