Hi Vanessa... I have found your name in my search of the Cubitt Ancestry - more precisely whilst tracing back to Frederick Joseph DCM ! A Martin and Nicola from Hertfordshire have also come to light. To enlighten you, I am the Granddaughter of Elizabeth Mary Anne Cubitt born 1884 who married in 1906 thus changing her surname to Robery. They had 7 surviving children and my Father was one of their Sons Frederick Alfred, born in 1915. She named her children mostly after her own siblings - i.e. Lilian - Albert - Arthur - William - Leslie and Hilda. I will say that I have only just begun my search and have a long way to go. They had such large families who in turn did the same , and to add to the mix passed down the names too! Clearly before the days of television!! If you feel we are 'connected' do make contact. Kind Regards. Rita |
