It was the same place ,his father was lost at sea in 1909. In the 1911 Census he is in the Orphanage and his mother brother sister and aunt all live elswere in Liverpool. He joined the army as soon as he got out and rose to the rank of Major ( my profile pic is him ) his brother went to sea at age 15 and was killed on H.M.S.Dasher in1943. I think it was as much a school as anything else the photo i have all the boy's are in clean smart sailor's outfits and all have toy's and seem happy. |

Has anyone any Knowlage or interest in the Liverpool Seaman Institute/ School/ Orphanage. I have an ancestor who was there from 1909 for a few year's . I have an old photo of a group of about 20 boy's but no name's. |
