This same family are still living in Shoreditch on the 1841 census. This time the name is spelt Pearson. |

Barry, I think your William Pearson is on the 1851 census under the spelling Pierson. Living in Shoreditch. |

To get his Father's name you need the correct marriage certificate. |

Barry - Don't assume a registration district contains just one parish - even some modern RDs, like Lancashire and Gloucestershire contain 2 or more. |

Thanka all. "astra" 1871 seems correct as William 1863 was my great grandfather. But still don't know parents of William 1838 as 1881 says he was born at St Lukes not St George the Martyr. |

I have been trying for years to trace the parents of William Pearson b1838 at St Lukes (Islington or Shoreditch?). He married a Maria Sargent in 1857. |
