Help! How to deal with copies

Quite a few people in my tree were married several times. Usually this is shown ok with all the spouses joined to the correct OH. Since the updates some (not all) of the people with more than one marriage have had a copy person created.

How do I get rid of the clone and connect the spouse and descendants to the real person ? Deleting the branch and then adding it back would be a royal pain and maybe Gru would just create another "copy".

I know Gru cannot handle cousin, 2nd cousin marriages and resorts to copies but it seems a bit much for a 2nd spouse.

The edit does not allow one to change the spouse, something which is ez to do in Ay which even allows alternates.

Ideas ?

I don't know with the new tree but it should work the same.
Decide which person you want to get rid of and change their first name so you can tell which is which.
Transfer all the children to the correct parents(under relationships)
Once you have done that the duplicate should delete.
I think wives are displayed by their date of birth not by the date of marriage.
