I have to take issue with Linda. Crayford was a silk and calico printing centre and hence he would have been printing waistcoats. There were also mills on the Wandle and Lea. |

This James TROWBRIDGE (1783-1846) looks right to me. Bt Windlesham 13 July 1783. Parents (according to Ancestry tree) were John TROWBRIDGE (1752-1835) and Ann CLARK (1747-1843). |

Waistcoat? Surely you mean wainscot (an area of wooden - especially oaken - panelling on the lower part of a room’s walls.) He would undoubtedly have served an apprenticeship so why do't you search for that in the records? |

His name was James Trowbridge born c1783 married Sarah Ann Eaglestone in Sutton at Hone Kent in 1809 |

Well only because you have not entered any family names ; there are many people on these boards who could soon provide some clues if you added names to your dates and c1841 current residence. |
