There is no charge if the record is applied for by the spouse of the serviceman/woman. In either case, a copy of the death certificate will be needed if the person died following active service and not during it. |

If your friend is the next of kin of the serviceman, and the serviceman is deceased, he can apply for the records, at a cost of £30.00, and a waiting period of several months. |
