Thank you so much for the information. Regretably the Ellen at Ashley Court Road is not the right one. My grandmother was born in Crews Hole to Samual and Elizabeth Fry. At the time of her marriage her address is listed as Bannerman Road and I know that her mother died when she was 18 months old and I think she was bought up by her Fry grandparents. Her father re-married when Ellen was about 3 1/2 to Eliza Bryant nee Wilkins. These things I have found out after gran died as she rarely ever said anything about her life. I will visit Bristol Archives next time I am in Bristol. Many thanks to all. |

I am trying to find out who my grandmother (Ellen Fry b 1886) was working for when she married in 1913. On her marriage certificate it states she is a chocolate packer in Bristol but I don't know whether it was Frys or Carsons or ?? Does anyone know how I might be able to find out. I would be grateful for any help or advise. |
