Thanks everyone for the replies Frederick was born in 1860 in Heath nr Clay Cross , Chesterfield. He was separated from his wife, In 1901 he was living in Danesmoor and had 3 children living with him: Gertrude Alice, George and William, if this helps.
He did die in 1939 in North Wingfield , nr Chesterfield .

Thanks for the replies. I am realyy confused why i cant find my 2xgreat grandfather on the 1911 census knowing he didnt die until 1939 so "should" be on the census!!
His name is frederick armstrong and "should " be in clay cross/ north wingfield /chesterfield area. He died in north wingfield so i imagine he stayed in that area. Any ideas or help with be gratefully received

Can we help by looking too?

I have a household which should contain a very young child. They even declare that one child was born and alive from their marriage.... but where is he?
People here have searched for him, but perhaps we will be luckier with your person.

Legally, yes. But people avoided it (Suffragettes for example). Some would have been missed. Some gave false info. If you can't find someone, then the entry may have been mistranscribed.
