How can I find out about a great uncle who hanged himself in the 1950s? I don't know the parish, but I remember my mother telling me how he had died and that he was buried outside the churchyard in unconsecrated ground. |

If you know his name then you can look in BMD's for his death. If you buy the death certificate you will have the exact date of death and can use this at the library nearest to where the death took place to see if there was a newspaper report of the inquest. These newspaper reports usually have quite a lot of detail, and most libraries hold back copies of local newspapers on microfilm. |

Try http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ where he 'may' be listed as a death. The 1950's is on the cusp of the current transcribed data. |
