One of mine was married in August 1873 he stated on the marriage cert. that he was 20, although he was only 16, his wife was 19 she was pregnant at the time of the marriage. |

My maternal grt grandma and her younger sister both married at just over 15 .with parental consent, this was circa 1870 |

In 1851 there were 56000 marrs where both parties gave their ages in years (rather than as full/minor). |

Hi, I've just read that up til 1929 girls aged 12 and boys aged 14 were able to marry. Has anyone come across a marriage at such an ealy age in their research? |
