Would it be stretching things...christening

Just wanted to ask would it be to far fetched to be christened 15/16 years after being born, could it be something that could happen. |

It's as the 'girls' say. I'm transcribing baptisms now and Adult Baptisms are quite common. |

My g/g/grandfather & his brother had all their joint 11 or more children baptised on the same day. Ages ranging from babies to 16 years old. My. g/grandfather was the eldest at 17 and did not get baptised. |

Where a late baptism occurs it is quite possible that the parish register will have the date of birth as well as the date of baptism. |

Yes many do, but on one of mine all the d.o.b.'s on the r/hand page are in the fold of the page and the pages have not been copied correctly, so you can see there is something there on all the records but not able to see. |
