Can anyone tell me how to find the "Stars" that you can give to each name in your tree.
You can give a rating of between 1 and 5 stars for each individual on your tree showing how certain you are that you have the right person, but I can't see them?

Cheers

Is it just me............. what would be the point?

Why would anyone put people in a tree without being sure?

Although they were there on the first release, they have now been removed.

They were quite fun - one star = " I'm making this up" :-D

FH is supposed to be a fun hobby, and we can't all afford every BMD certificate. I can understand why someone may decide to add a name which they 'think' may be a spouse cross referenced from a gro marriage index, giving the name a low rating to indicate to themselves that it may be wrong.

Let's face it, even with certificates we can't be 100% sure about most of our trees.

This is the type of 'facility' on Ancestry whereby you can start a new 'tree' with your not so sures.

This on Ancestry is what I think causes many people to complain that there are a lot of bogus trees on there.

What happens is that once you have started your tree you get 'hints' now many are of no connection whatsoever, but if you think they may be but do not wish to add them to your tree you can start a new tree.

Not something I have done, but I know that I have found certain relatives with unusual names on many of these type of trees. So the tree could have only 2 -5 people on, but until the person owning that tree is certain of the familial connection they do not add to their true tree.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question. It was just the fact that I couldn't find how to use them that made me ask the question. I don't think i'll bother with them now,

Cheers.
