Adopted family member...post ww2

Another problem could be that in the confusion and all the other stuff going on just after the War, it could have been an adoption done by consent and no officials involved.

Altough illegal I would imagine that many such adoptions would have happened just before husbands came home so they never met the child born when they had not been home for several years!

We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars, Oscar Wilde New avatar, my dad age about 3/4 months, could have been worse, it could have been the awful nude on a rug!!

HI Joe.
The only way you can find her is if she is also looking for her birth family.
Have you put your details on the National Adoption Register (I am assuming we are talking about the UK)?
Also worth putting any family names you have into 'search all trees', found in search box above right. A very long shot, but easy to do and worth a try.
You might also try google searching her name. If she has posted on any other sites it might show up.

Hi, can anyone give me advice on how to trace my Dad's sister who was adopted shortly after birth in 1946. I have her birth certificate but dont know anymore about her and nor does my Dad.

Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
