Is there anyway these ancestors could be traced back? My great great grandfather came from Lagos - I even know the tribe although it is a vast tribe. He was the reason i started on my family tree quest and now I'm stuck at him. I know he came over on a ship and was what we call a donkeyman in the engine room, but again we dont know the name of the ship either. Hoping someone can help with this :-) |

Thanks Jan, I'll try that now. Im not even sure where he was married. Probably in this country though. He married a Edith Anstice from Somerset and she became the blacksheep of the family. |

Well, there are only 4 marriages for an Edith Anstice, so if you haven't already I would double-check for the marriage on Freebmd, you never know. |
