Must admit I am struggling on Ancestry too! Though we did find the other Grice family. So FMP is prob. the right way to go. |

Can anyone make out address 1871 on Ancestry? On the off-chance they were there. 1891 was Norman Rd and they aren't there as far as I can tell. |

Address in 1871 that Susan posted looks like Church Street, Kirkby and transcribed accordingly on FMP: |

It's this one MarieCeleste - I think! A few Ancestry trees have this family, but nobody seems to have them 1881. |

Right! The address is very clear on FMP (bearing in mind they've done the old fashioned think of substituting an "f" for one of the "s" |

I think neither Ancestry nor FMP transcribed 1881, but they both just used the pre-existing LDS FS transcription. |

The only other thing I can think of - following the idea of looking at addresses - is to get nearest birth cert to 1881 census, i.e. William's, but unfortunately there are two equally likely births! |

I would be tempted to say it was the 1881 one |

LancashireAnn, I did wonder if the 2 roads were somehow linked? Found this 1881. Comes under parish of St. Nicholas so right sort of area I think?? Just a thought. |
