familysearch (free site) has Scottish baptisms and marriages upto 1875 for lots of parishes. Also freereg has some.

The certs you can view and download from scotlandspeople give far more info than English ones, eg death certs give parents' names,; marriage certs give mothers' names and birth certs give date and place of parents' marriage.

Best value of all is a visit to the Scotlands People centre, Register house, Princes St. Edinburgh. for 15 pounds you get access to the online resources for BMD's. Copies (paper or to memory stick) cost one pound. Opening is from 9 am to 4.30 PM. You can do an awul lot once you know the drill and the supervisors are very helpful.

In addition you can use the library which contains lots of material. My favourite are the churchyard plans /Memorial Inscriptions from the early 20th century. Many stones since lost can be found there. The registers of Sasines (land register) are also available - you'll need to register for a readers ticket (2 photos, photo ID and 2 recent utility bills showing your address) Sasines are in large part digitised so searches are easy.

The building and gardens are beautiful, the caféteria is mediocre but theres a pub round the corner that does great sandwices and lunchtime soups etc. :-)

SP charge £7 for 30 credits.
If you are careful with your searches, this will cover the purchase of 5 certificates.

If you live in Scotland, SP vouchers can be purchased at larger libraries that have a family history section.
Each has a unique username and password but cost £7 for 60 credits.
Top ups for additional 30 credits cost £4.75.
Can be purchased at Mitchell Library Glasgow
In South Lanarkshire at: East Kilbride ( Central), Rutherglen and Hamilton( Town House) libraries.

You get free searches but you have to buy credits to view the ref and to view the certs. After around 1910 onwards .(not sure of the actual years), you cant view the cert but can order it through the site at £10 each.

The credits are very reasonably priced

You need the Scotlandspeople website for Scottish records. It is a pay per view website.

Can anyone tell me how to look up Scottish Birth, Marriage and Death records. When I do google search it points me back to Genes Reunited but I can't find them :-(
