The bit I’m looking at is the three entries -2nd 3rd and 4th from the bottom of the right hand page. The transcripts show them to be
Jane Tanner 11yrs Born 1830 Edmund Tanner 9yrs Born 1832 and Albert Tanner 6yrs Born 1835.
But where are the adults? From the layout it certainly seems like a separate unit and not a continuation of the family above I’ve tried Googling the location and it doesn’t appear to be any sort of childrens’ home.
Any ideas or do I write it off as an error by the people doing the census back in 1841.
Thanks

1841 for parents and Emily????
TANNER, Charles M 40 1801 TANNER, Esther F 30 1811 TANNER, George M 15 1826 TANNER, Emily F 0 (4 months) 1841 Surrey
Piece: 1049 Book/Folio: 4/4 Page: 1 Registration District: St Mary Magdalen Bermondsey Civil Parish: St Mary Magdalen Bermondsey Municipal Borough: Address: Bermondsey Street, St Mary Magdalen Bermondsey County: Surrey
The original states that Charles is a Fire Escape Conductor and Toll Collector.
Note: In the 1841 Census a policy of rounding down ages was in place. As such, people aged:
15-19 were recorded as 15 20-24 were recorded as 20 25-29 were recorded as 25 30-34 were recorded as 30 35-39 were recorded as 35...and so on

Thank you - although how you managed to translate the original is beyond me -and it also explains some of the age disparity's I've been hitting

Wungle
May I just point out that the vast majority of people on here do NOT use GR records, so your link would be inaccessible to them
Most use FMP or Ancestry...............

Thanks Reggie
I'll bear that in mind.
