Is there ever a good moment for it to crash? I would be lost if I couldn't use the Internet.

Researching:
Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

It is always at the most inappropriate moment that any piece of technology decides it is going to turn up its electrodes and stop working.

But with computers as long as you have everything backed up (back up before switching off is probably best) then you will not have lost too much data.

Having said that must now back up mine have not done so for a week!!!!!

its whats known as S.ds law

With my last PC I ignored warning signs that it was on the blink and soldiered on cos it would open websites etc even tho sometimes I got "funny" messages etc.

learnt my lesson cos one day when logging in it had GONE. lost all my census info photos etc .

I have a click free external box that backs up each day do i can reload if the PC goes down. Only thing is though I am on XP so would need a new PC with XP for it to work.

Its is very frustrating tho when the PC decides to pack up
