Thank you both for your help, yes thats the one.i also found 1851 Philladelphia Wells but i think something didnt match up there but i will go back in there and have another look..
im not very good at read old writing :-(

They seem to have made a bit of a hash of the 1861 transcription, haven't they?

Unless you/we have picked up the wrong family, something fishy is going on as by 1881, Philadelphia is described as a widow

Hardly anyone uses GR for research......this site's real value is the help given by its paying members

If you want to cross-refer census info about a wife's name.............try looking at freebmd for the marriage.................providing it took place after July 1837
