Is there anyone who can give me any suggestions where to find out the above please. I have a relative who was known by the name of Polly but cannot find any records for her. I think she was born around 1889. Thank you |

It might just be a pet name, but might be a diminutive of Mary? |

HMS Hood is famous, having been sunk by the Bismark in May 1941, with only a handful of survivors. There are various websites, including one with crew lists, but without a surname it will be difficult. Philip may not have had the same surname as Aunt Polly. |

Have just looked through the Commonwealth War Graves site. (Your Philip might not have been covered by this site). |
