Hello,

Im looking for more information on Stanley Edward Brogden born in 1882 in Scotland.
I have found a 1901 cenus (see below) but i can't seem to find anything more? I believe he married a woman named Eva Bailey but no marriage certificate and i can't seem to find him in the 1911 census? I managed to find his daughter Winifred Ada Godfrey Brogden b1908 as a Nurse Child with the Allen family.
As he's a professional dancer i thought perhaps he may have been travelling or back to Scotland to work whilst his daughter was being cared for?

Maybe he also was married in Scotland? but i can't seem to find anything on Ancestry either?

Any help would be very much appreciated. :)

Winifred Ada Brogden was my grandmother who was a very private person who didn't like to discuss her life. I have her birth and death certificates she was born on the 11th October 1908 in Stoke Newington, Hackney her parents where Stanley Brogden and Eva Bailey who I believe were actors consequently they didn't want my grandmother and sent her to family in Derby. I believe she went to a convent school near Belper. She became an unmarried mother in 1929 in Newton Abbot, Devon and is supposed to have married my grandfather Stephen George Love about 1930 although I cannot find any such marriage I begining too wonder if they did marry. I have also look on the 1911 census for her and have found nothing (in fact I have been unable to find a single one of my relatives on the 1911 census even the ones I know exactly where they were so I am about to give up on it for the time being). I have been eagerly awaiting the 1911 census as I was so hoping the it would give me a lead to try and move forward. Any ideas I would be extremely grateful.

Perhaps Stanley and Eva didn't marry, and her maiden name came from a birth certificate?

I think that by 1981, DC's had the name of the spouse. Not entirely sure if Stanley's DC would be of much help, but possibly?

Stanley Edward Brogden was my grandfather by another woman (not Eva Bailey). His stage name was Teddy Brogden. Our family was in contact with him in his later years and he died in a nursing home near Tunbridge Wells (where we lived) in 1980. I got to know him a bit (i was a boy at the time) and he was a lovely man.

I have research on Stanley that I'd be happy to share. Also Interested in sharing others' research on him and his family.
