Geneaology Program for Family Tree

Hi I would like to buy a Family Tree Program CD but not sure which one would be easiest to use does anyone have any tips on which one is good.

I use Family Tree Maker and it's very easy to use but it is the 2005 version so I'm not sure what the more up to date version is like. However it is very popular.

There are, however, quite a few free programs that you can download - just Google and you'll find them.

Members will have different views on this.

I like Kath am still using FTM2005 and it works for me.

It will depend on what sort of info you want to record and the type of reports you want.

Try one of the free ones first - do a small tree and see if it produces the results you want.

I have just downloaded Free Family Tree then Norton removed it as unsafe!

My preference is Family Historian.

Althought the download version is cheaper, they do sell a version of disc.

You could always download and try PAF 5.Its a free program from the Mormons of Salt Lake City USA
Just do a search for PAF 5
