Hi Eringobragh1916,
Thank you very much for the information. I think if I can get a fathers or mothers name on a MC I think it is the way forward and only way I can be sure that am on the right track. I have thought that maybe the names might follow pattern but as my mother only had one older sister. Thank you for the advice I will work on trying to get hold of a MC now.
Kerry.

Kerry in the absence of a Birth Cert. then dont take dob as Gospel !! The dob given on a Death/any other Cert is always dependant of those giving the info. I would suggest you get the MC which would give the name of Michael's father and work from there.
Did your mother have any bros./sisters ? Most Irish families followed the traditional naming Pattern of their children and sometimes you may find a clue there ..it is not foolproof because some children may have died....

I don't know the names of his parents. I think he had a brother called Paddy- Patrick and a sister called Mary but I cant be positive on this that is why I was looking for a birth record so I could possible find a census record that might lead me from there with possible names of his parents.
I have come across this record of Michael Joseph Gloster in Sothern Ireland ,but it is in 1908, and I have thought the same thing is it possible that my Grandfathers date of birth is wrong. Could this happen even though on his death record his date of birth 7,5,1912? Could his date of birth still be different? I am pretty knew to this and this is the first glitch I have come across On my Fathers side of the family I have been pretty lucky.
Many thanks, Kerry.

You appear to be on the right path... Cath/Kath are interchangeable....and the fact your mother was born in Tullamore Co Offaly....
For ref. Birr is in the RC Dioces Killaloe Tullamore RC Diocese of Meath
There were 1901/1911 Gloster families in the Dingle and the Co Limerick...the surname however was more prelevant in the Dingle and some showing on the Census for the Co Limerick had been b in the Dingle/(Co Kerry)

Kerry, Does Michael's death certificate name his parents? If so you may be able to track them down on a 1911 census in Ireland.

Hi,
I am trying to track down a birth record or marriage record for my grandfather which has been totally unsuccessful. I have found the death record for him but I am not finding anything else. I did find my Mothers birth record and she was born in Tullamore, Ireland on 7th May 1953.
I know my grandfather Michael Gloster, was born in Southern Ireland, I have been told Dingle, Kerry, Ireland, but I cant find anything in records I have looked at. He was born on 7th May 1912, and died in Aug 2003 in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. He married a Kathleen Kenny which I can not find a marriage for either. I am just totally stuck with this any advice or help I would be very much grateful for.
Many thanks, Kerry.
