Middlesex Assizes - 1869

My ancestor, Richard Rosson, was sent to prison at the end of 1869 for 6 months. I have a reference for the crime but wonder how I can find out more about this event. His brother, Christopher, Rosson was also convicted and imprisoned for 7 years due to repeated crimes.

Any help would be appreciated.

There 'might' be something in the Newspaper Archives

The Entry on Ancestry suggests the images are held at Kew which might be worth searching if they are on line

Have looked in the Newspaper Archives and he got a job as a barman and defrauded the publican in conjunction with a partner in crime.

I'll send you the newspaper article via the message system.

Can't find anything on Christopher Rosson's crimes but he is mentioned in someone else's trial.

The Morning Post of 10 December 1869 reports on a case where three chaps stole a pair of trousers from the railway.

One of the witnesses, Emily Rose of Sovereign Mews, Cambridge Street is described as living with a Christopher Rosson who was sentenced to 7 years penal servitude by that court.
