Correcting on Ancestry

I never leave anything in the comments box except an explanation. In many cases I am not even amending my own family. But noticing an error when searching for my own lot will spot an error, look at the original and if happy to do so will submit and amendment, and I will then go to Findmypast and see if the entry there needs any corrections.

Every little helps ...... ;-)

Jan,

Do not include your name.

Your Ancestry username will appear against the correction. Thus anyone reading it will be able to contact you via. the Ancestry message system.

I'm in the middle of correcting a transcription on the 1891 census on Ancestry on the comment section. Just wondering if I should leave my name on the correction or just stick to the facts? What do other people do when they correct things on Ancestry?
