when looking up a birth is the date on the records birth date or date the birth is registered |

My dad was born 29th Dec 1907. you have 6 weeks to register a birth because then the lying in time was 6 weeks,mums then if the birth was in hospital were in for 3 weeks and it was mostly the mum who reg a birth,. not always tho!!. |

When local registrars offices send their records to the GRO they are done quarterly. |
