I have just come across this website and wondered if any of you had registered and paid to view records. It thought it could be easier to search if you don't have a specific year and not cheap as it costs up to 10 euro (£8.65) for full details of each grave.

I also wanted to know if it was likely that family members were buried in the same grave and what information you get compared with the actual certificate?

Yes Rose I have used it.

However I did know that my gt grandparents were buried there but I also discovered that 2 of their sons were buried in the same grave too, so that was and added bonus which filled in some missing gaps! It gave their addresses and date of death as well.

Thanks for your replies. I have looked at the sites suggested by Joy, also familysearch and find my past and in some cases I also have the certificates.

I see from the website that you may get the cause of death aswell so you should get almost all the information provided by a certificate and maybe more family members aswell so I can see it might be an easier and cheaper option.

Hi there
Just thought that I would had to this post ,firstly by saying that Joy is right this is a wonderful site
But may I also had that Glasnevin were even more helpful I telephoned them with the paid for details and asked the general question DO THEY HAVE ANY MORE INFO ON MY FAMILY the lady there then gave me details of another 4 burials!!

Also try
writing to te Carmelite nuns based in Dublin,they hold a lot of family details dating back to the 1800`s
Also try
find my past i.e and post in there forum its free

Hi Elizabeth,

Many thanks for your input. I have registered at the site. It is good to know the people at Glasnevin were so helpful. I probably only need to look at 3 graves and hopefully will find family members together so it may be cheaper than buying the death certificates.

I will also try the other sites you mentioned.
