Go to View my relatives profiles from relatives tab on main menu
put in name of person you want to add photo to and search
click on the one you want
click see all photos and media (assuming you have uploaded photo to keepsafe) already
the there is a set profile button , click this

Hi Peter: I had a lot of trouble with the new system when it first came out. I run an old laptop with XP and IE8. I found that when I changed to run it in Mozilla Firefox I finally got all the bells and whistles. I now have no problems with GR, in fact it's a lot better than the old system and I have hopes there are more improvements in the pipeline.

As advised by IGR, I have been to the help file.

Can I choose a profile picture?

Yes you can. Simply click on the image currently showing on the top left hand side of your relation's profile page and you will be taken to the photos that are attached to this relation. Hover over the photo you would like to choose and click ‘Set Profile Photo’. This photo will now appear as the profile picture both here and in the tree.

What is still missing is the " ‘Set Profile Photo’ button. simply NOT there.
As I referred to earlier I can go no further.

Opinions aside, the main problem here seems to be the 'fuzzy image', which I've never encountered. IGP has given you the email address to 'support' to ask for assistance.

When the Keepsafe was first introduce, I did experiment with it and despite the extra processes you have to go through, find it preferable to the old version of one upload to one person.

Now, if you have a family group of say Aunt Flo, Uncle Jim and their daughter Sally, the photo has only to be uploaded once rather than 3 times. You can then highlight Aunt Flo and attach her headshot to her profile etc etc.

Having witnessed many changes over the past ten years, it is interesting that the 'old' version people say they would like back back is the very same 'new' version that was itself rubbished when it was introduced during the last round of updates.....!

Whilst personally I won't put pictures on my tree, I gather the changes were made in order that members could add an extra element of security.

Previously anyone who had access to your tree could access all the photos you had added indiscriminately, download them to their PC and do with them what they chose. The keepsake facility was GR's response to that.

All the items in your Keepsafe are private until you decide to share them. You have full control over who sees the items you have added.

In the previous GR format, I could put an image straight onto the tree view of any person and then chose a frame for it. Upload as many images to that person and it was so easy. Now it gets me so angry. Uploading any image goes straight into the Keepsafe. Now I/we have to go through another lengthy procedure to get that image from Keepsafe to show on the tree view. I have gone through this lengthy process. Open image, click on fuzzy image and then click to progress, That image now shows on the pesonal tag in the tree view enabaling others with acces to my tree can see them. For a number of weeks now that "fuzzy image" is not showing its self so I can not go any further.

Does anyone else feel the same as I do and have lost the "fuzzy image" and got past it, what did you do?

I have used two different browsers on the Pc and am using Windows 7.

Would so much like the old GR back.
