Oops - Pollard is another name on my family tree! Yes, I had assumed they had had other children who had not survived before Cecilia. Thank you Jax for their details. |

Thank you everybody. Robert Pollard was a boilermaker as I have tracked him through the census to 1901. Cecilia's sister Elizabeth was my gt gt grandmother. I will follow the Pye link for now and order Elizabeth or Cecilia's birth certificate to see if that confirms the maiden name. The sister Cecilia on the 1851 census is too much of a coincidence isn't it? |

Is this who you mean? Maybe Cecilia's birth cert would be the way to go if so: |

My ancestor Robert Thomas - b 1843 in Liverpool to William and Elizabeth Thomas - married Margery between the 1861 and 1871 censuses. I have tried searching for their marriage record but without success. Their first child (that I'm aware of) was born in 1872. Any help would be appreciated as I feel I have searched so much now that I may not be able to see the wood for the trees. |
