I have British membershiship and they have given me a few hints to view on my Fathers Canadian line.

Millage Gerald Stevens Marriage...born abt 1886.
in Wentworth Ontario Canada
I know he Married Charlotte Ethel Upfield but dont have the date.

Another cheeky ask.....(This might be Millage Gerald Stevens from above?)

Thats defo my Grandfather Choccy. He was a harness maker. Thanks again.

His Mother Mary Clark Stevens/Orme died in 1898 hence the adopted son thing in 1901.
His Fathers name is a mystery as not sure if he was Arthur Albert or Albert Arthur. Unsure when his Father died too.

It's lovely to find out the familys name that took him in. I havent seen the Brien name in the Family ho hum....

Poor ol' Millage may have had a bad start in life but he did make good of himself as an adult.
He was a very respected man in his community and province.

All our mob were in town, and we never had to deal with Ontario farm addy's.
Ontario was surveyed township by township. Each township was split into concession strips, and each strip split into lots.
A typical full-sized lot is 200 acres, and measures 20 x 100 chains (80 chains=1mile).
To locate an addy, we need a concession map, and there's one for S Ont at:

Be aware as you drill down that the top edge isn't necessarily true north.
This township is a bit of a mess - maybe the surveys on the Niagara peninsular were a bit rushed to stop the Americans from pushing north.
Anyways, the lot's in the bottom right of the map, labelled "Lewis Stevens".
(As you drill down, under the maps there's an option to generate a list of people - I had to use this here to check I'd found Lot 5.)
