.......coloured photos of London in 1940. I found it very interesting as my father in law was in the National Fire Brigade fighting the fires. |

i remember when Charlton station got a direct hit one Saturday lunchtime in 1944. In those days people worked a half day on a Sat. and a packed train had just left the station when the air raid warning went . Mum was cleaning the front steps and she wasnt going to be stopped from putting the whitening on the step . we were sent indoors. |
