Apart from real life events taking up their time, and unfamiliarity with how the site works, they may think that 'helpers' are actually GR employees. Even so, an acknowledgement by PM or posting would be appreciated! |

Gai - we've recently worked out that the 'Watched Threads' function is working (in some cases). However, it does need a Poster to actually click on it to activate the GR notification! |

The Watched Threads function was referred to the technical team a while ago; sometimes the function works, sometimes it doesn't. |

i appreciate all the help I have been given and would like to think i remember to say so on my threads but it wouldn't occur to me to thank anyone by PM unless they'd Pm ed me first . The chats are open but I believed using PM 's was too personal . Is this wrong ? |

not wrong at all really - a response of some kind on the actual thread [posting] is all that is required just to let people know you have seen what has been found for you :-) |

When I first requested help on Find Ancestors, I sat watching a blank sceen, waiting and hoping. Went off to make a cup of tea. Returned to a blank screen. I assumed that the replies, if any, would just pop up. Didn't realise that I had to come out and go in to My Threads. Now, of course,.I would have been kindly nudged by Cynthia. |

No need for apologies Cynthia. It was way back in 2010 and I managed to find my way back to the thread eventually. I do wonder if others do the same as I did back then or maybe they just forget altogether. Its good that you alert the missing ones. |
