Confusion over burial and death dates

Parish records are records of burials, not deaths, although some give the date of death as well. |

True - I tend to assume a death within the previous week unless it is in the last 50 years when refrigeration became more common. |

I just noticed that records give burial dates, not the dates when the person passed away. This can make searching confusing if it was near the end of a month , as they would be buried in the next month.( or possibly the next quarter) |
