Would anyone be kind enough to look up the 1861 census indexed on Ancestry as -George Wadham age 15 [born 1846 in Somerset] living Lancashire-I am trying to track his parents as I only have him in 1851 living in Poole with his grand parents. Thanks |

Just a caution! When do you have him for sure as your ancestor - when married for example? |

Thanks for your quick reply -as you say not very helpful but I'll keep looking-all I have for certain is him being in Poole in 1851 as a grand child but no mention of parents |

I think this is the only Wadham family in Bath - but you might need his birth or marriage cert to confirm it is right: |

Thanks again I think this is the George Albert Wadham who was born in Taunton so not my George as he was in Poole in 1851 and born in Bath |

Thanks for 1851 census which is the one I have -as I read it I don't think Harriett Furber is the mother of George unless she had him before she married James Furber-I have traced Harriett right through her life and George does not occur again to link him .with her -She married James Furber in 1844 and George was not born until 1846 so he would have had Furber as surname.a puzzle! Maybe his was the son of Sophia who was unmarried. |

There is no reason whatsoever for him being recorded as Harriet's son - just the transcriber leaping to a wild conclusion! |
