I use chrome, and have no problems going to genealogy or ancestors, but when I come back to My threads, I get an error message half the time - however, backing out and trying again nearly always gets me there - maybe 10% of time I've needed 3 tries, but it's not a big sample. |

The 'dreaded' time out error message and the newly reported browser login issue are unconnected. |

IGP - OK, but I didn't have this happening last week, so maybe "unconnected" is too strong - not directly connected I'ld believe, but It seems plausible to me the login problems might generate an additional processor load which would exacerbate their capacity problems. |

Why should the paying members have to change their operating system to accommodate GR's failings? |

I've had trouble with IE and GR for months. I now use Firefox. I'm with Reggie that software designers should make their products reverse compatible. |

It looks like nothing to do with your Operating System. The problem which has arisen following the upgrade is with browser compatibility, or lack of it, not with your OS. |

Where do you get the idea that anyone is referring to 'time-out'? |
|||
|
mgnv | Report | 14 Jun 2013 01:17 |
Reggie - I now believe that GR issues its own time-outs as error messages. I got the idea from the behaviour of my PC prior to the Error display - a long period of waiting for a response from GR, followed by the error message display. |
