Help. I am trying to trace Sarah in the 1871 census. She came from sedgley and her parents were Mary and Joseph Broadhurst. She had a child[Christina] in 1868 but the father was unknown.Sarah married in 1875 to George Hayward. In the 1861 census she is 13 living with her parents. Christina is living with Mary and Joseph in the 1871 and 1881 census but no trace of Sarah B or Sarah H. |

I think the 1871 census above is probably correct. It says Hayward on image.'Fanny' is her daughter, a bit strange though isn't it. Are you 100% sure Christina is her daughter also? |

I have the birth cert for my nan[Amy Anderson dob 17/11/1910] on which it names her mother as Amy Anderson, formally Hayward.I have already established that this Amy changed her name from Christina to Amy.I also have her birth cert stating Christina born 10/10/1868 was the child of Sarah Ann Broadhurst but no fathers name. |

Thank you Ann.I am also tracing the Andersons. I have gone as far back as John Anderson and his possible father,Andrew. I am looking for Cyril Beason, married to my nan but he wouldn't be included in the 1911 census because he wasn't born until 22/11/1911. I have traced his father and grandfather. |
